Na. I don't mind. Hope you like the laminated neck. I should have the FB done today braces and lining this weekend bridge, saddle, nut, pins, end graft. Then off to the spray booth . I am laughing but I am going to apply a 3mm clear film. Then the fun begins. adding Lighting and adjusting the reflectivity and refractively of the materials. Thats where the real magic happens.

I know tax software has what-if capability. Does your modelling program? Here is my question: Can you easily flip the bookmatch? Just wondering?

Like I said in an email, this looks nice, but if it isn't too difficult, a rendering both ways could help in decision making which way looks best.

Of course all of us do this in the shop, and it's easy to get the look you are going for. This particular set is much straighter on the other edge, and the major curvy and color variant would cut out of the pattern if flipped 180 in on both sides.

Just wondering how much trouble it was? Keep up the good work, it's fun to see what you are able to do in 3D and with actual photos of the wood.

Just a minor update: I've now seen one guitar (made by a Dutch 'amateur' guitarmaker and fingerpicker) with crazee Martin-type baroque inlays and an EIR top. I've asked him some info about it, and I'll see if he's willing to pop by and comment on the construction thereof, etc..

He's replied. The pic he'd posted only showed part of the body, and since the discussion had been all about acoustic guitars, I assumed it was a plain 'ol acoustic. Sadly it's a reso, so no help there.

False alarm, unfortunately. On the upside, it's some new territory to explore for you.

Bob--last week (?) Bruce lived in the Christmas Islands, I believe. He really gets around, doesn't he? And all those homes-- he must have done quite well as an electrician!

Thanks guys...I finished the virtual guitar last night. I am working on lighting, reflection and refraction as we speak. I did leave out the herringbone purf to cut time down since this is just for fun. That is the most time consuming purf I could build 3d. because the only way to get it to look right as it follows the curves is to make a model of each inlaid piece in the herringbone. I will send Bruce the final views maybe this evening.

This is a perfect example of the pre-construction design process I offer. A full guitar down to the braces and inlay. This gives my clients a look at what they are buying prior to construction. I offer this as a standard service for guitars built with exotic woods and or custom Inlay. I account for this time in my base price. And I offer this service to all OLF's at a huge discount off my standard 3d modeling rate. A full guitar (with any purf other than herringbone) $150.00. My clients that have taken advantage of this service have been very pleased. In fact two clients have made changed in inlays and binding and pufling materials after viewing. These changes would have cost good money to change mid-construction.

All the major body material is mapped from photos of the actual wood Bruce is using. Now the ball falls in Bruce's court
